That’s disappointing. Maybe I’ll get it after a few patches roll out.

Very well put together. I appreciate all the effort you put into these reviews. Keep up the good work!

I will agree with you but at the same time I still have hope for the game because as many of you will remember Ns1 was pretty unbalanced and went through many changes over its lifetime. I expect the same with ns2 and if the devs are smart they will listen to their players.

  4. Oh, yeah, great. A whole 12 minute review about how it’s not as good as NS1 because it doesn’t have bunnyhopping and doesn’t work as well for comp play.

So what version of the beta did you play this on? doesnt look like 224-226 so your comments where you talk about how poor the performance is kinda a bummer since you decided to form an opinion without even playing the final builds before release…

this vid sums up my feelings pretty much as a ns1 veteran. the game is good, but I feel let down and disappointed in a lot of the choices the dev team made.

@xXX420broscopeXXx Why would you still have hope for this game?

Exactly, now explain to me WHY is it logical to make the same mistake as NS1? If Flayra (the developer) had any commonsense wouldn’t he realize that a game like Natural Selection is HARD to balance…and since NS1 is already a WORKING and BALANCE formula why not use that?!? It is even more astoundingly ridiculous when he decided to develop the game on their OWN ENGINE, knowing how limited their team and resources are! Who in the right mind would do that?

NS2 will lose sales and playbase in a few months, then it walk the track NS1 did years ago; a long balancing process year to come and once it great there will be only 2-3 servers alive

Wow, I feel like you went out of your way to crap one everyone’s parade. Does the game need work and improvements still? Yes. Is it as terrible as you paint it out to be? No.

You painted all of the game’s CONs while not taking time to appropriately talk about the PROs. The times you did give credit where it was due, it was painted in a negative light, as if it was clearly a sad attempt at being a better game.

I think the removal of bunny hopping was a good idea. Skill based movement serves to isolate casual gamers, rather than drawing more people to play.

Although the game performance clearly has issues, it has been improving at an incredible rate, and the support that UWE is providing is very encouraging.

    BIASED REVIEW IS BIASED.

@m3lior I agree that the reviewer place TOO much emphasis on bunny hopping. But see…that’s not ALL the problem…I actually wish he had mention the other NUMEROUS CONs about game balance and performance. This game is littered with bad performance; if you had been a beta tester for this game for the last 3 years; you would know how bad their net codes are. The game since day one have had performance problem, and till today it is barely playable on an average computer (lag spikes, hit registration errors, frame sync…etc…). Performance aside, the developers done a TERRIBLE job at trying to balance it for the last 3 years when they have 20,000 beta testers actively giving them feedback and suggestions. The game is currently one-sided, and you can see this for yourself by going to their forum and check out some of the complain threads.

I’m seeing lots of varied complaints, not specifically one side. And, most of it deals with Exos and Onos. I think a 6 minute Onos is kind of pushing it. I think the biggest problems are the obvious technical faults and, after that, the Alien commander.

What the fuck was even the point of that? It was hard to get good Gorge players in the original and now there’s almost no incentive.
