  1. Football Armor is still my favorite GYP quote. VIDEO GAME EXPERTS ON THE PANEL.

I got so excited because I assumed it was erotic GYP fanart, but sadly my spirits were crushed.

Gather Your Podcast 17 was always my favorite.
Anyway, I’m pretty disappointed they didn’t bring up that erotic fanfic someone wrote. Or do they not know…?

  4. PS2 had a lot of fantastic budget games. Alter Echo, Scaler, first BurnOut, Haunting Ground, Cel Damage, and I’m sure there were plenty others.

  5. Sirs, you’ve got Gentlemen Discussing Vidya in my GYP.

I’m also disappointed as fuck that you doubted Markbot’s cold robotic logic and didn’t even give him a pity chuckle when he attempted to emulate humorous human jokes.

Even though it was a crack at me I was feeling for him at that moment. There are those jokes that you regret even as you’re saying them. Lucky for Mark it was only a one liner, it usually takes me half a rant before I feel the biting cold of shame.

      • I think the main reason was so awkwardly funny is -because- you weren’t there and because it seems as if Markbot didn’t know that you weren’t there. You can just hear the gears in his robotic brain turning as he realizes his mistake, then tries to keep pushing through the awkward silence.

You all have a wonderful dynamic that is still there even if some members are missing from the podcast, and that’s why it’s wonderful to listen to the GYPodcast.

I don’t get what I did that was a “mistake”. I still stand by the idea that football armor is correct. It’s not a full suit of armor but it’s worn on the exterior and protects their body.

@Yalyn – Link to it? I’ve never heard of it. I can look into it and save my answer for the next podcast (or comments if I’m not in it).

No Markbot, the mistake he was referring to was talking about Mike like he was there, but then there was only silence as no one responded.

  6. I think the problem with Anarchy Reigns’ release was that Sega just didn’t have the funds and didn’t think that it would sell enough in the US, so they didn’t want to put the funds to use producing English copies and all that. I think it’s a wonderful game, but both Anarchy Reigns and MGR look like they didn’t have the funds/time to do everything they were planning for it.

Even in its US release, you can tell that not much money was spent – the great manual used in the JP edition is replaced with a poorly-done black and white manual (though it’s par for the course for games these days).

Yeah I made sure that the width is pretty much the same as what most of the comics that are uploaded here… but that doesn’t solve a damn thing cause’ the length is super looong.

Anyway, hey Mark. Since you don’t like that one-man’s creation that is Cave Story, what you think about Konjak’s works? Konjak is just a one man who likes to make gaems.

Actually, Persona 4 Arena had infamous Zen United as a European publisher since its NA release. Same people responsible for delaying a release of Blazblue in Europe until a new game in the series came out in other territories.

  9. I liked the Hanlon’s Razor quote Rob

  10. Would be interesting if you talked more in-depth of game mechanics and design. Maybe spend half a podcast about discussing such things, like what design and mechanics makes a good MMO/FPS/RPG, 90s FPS vs modern, what do you prefer of JRPGs over WRPGs design wise and vice versa etc. and the other half to standard GYP news commenting. Sure, one can probably find a youtube video of these things but with a podcasts with several people in it makes it more absorbing since you get multiple points of views.

Or maybe there are already a podcasts like this out there somewhere, if so feel free to point me in that direction.
