  1. This jazz should be weekly. Give me what I’m entitled to.

  2. IT’S CROSS BAKA GAIJINS

Also, fuck Capcom. Fuck them until they’re kinda like the nether.

  3. Jamestown is nothing short of great. Numbs the pain of having no Cave games for PC. Been playing it recently, it’s the first shooter where I’ve actually cared about score. Playing it for survival\score are two very different experiences, as is co-op with a friend(only played 2 player unfortunately). The only weak points from my perspective is the lack of a practice mode with save states to learn segments more easily\effectively and the lack of online multiplayer.

The hardest difficulty is actually insanely hard; to the point where I doubt more than a handful of people have cleared the gauntlet, if that. There are bullets that go through your vaunt shield in this mode, in addition to much denser patterns. The achievement for doing it without getting hit has probably never been attained(achievement stats are useless due to cheating unfortunately). In fact even the highest scores, at least those that are posted on youtube include many deaths. I’ve been playing on the second to hardest difficulty mode and I’ve still managed to get top 20(including a few impossible scores) scores on every stage, meaning the amount of people who can do the hardest mode is really low. Granted, there may just be a small pool of players, but they got a lot of attention from the humble bundle; it has over 10k Steam recommendations which is probably a fraction of its active playerbase. It’s definitely harder than most tohou fare.

I played a lot of it back when it first came out – but that was in co-op, and if I recall correctly you only lost a life in co-op when all four players died. It probably feels a lot harder in single player.

There were also some Shmups in one of the recent indie royale bundles, but I have yet to try them. I’ve heard good things, though.
