Originally scheduled for release on October 16th, the games 5th class, the Mechromancer, has been released today, a week early. The skill tree for this class was released even earlier to give people some time to mess around with the different trees and experiment without having to invest time into actual game-play. The first of three trees are named “Best Friend Forever”, and this focuses more on healing and melee damage for Deathtrap, your robot companion that you summon with your action skill. The second is named “Little Big Trouble”, and this tree focuses on electrical damage with skills such as “Shock Storm” that causes electrocution damage to nearby enemies when you kill an enemy with a critical hit, or Deathtrap kills an enemy. The third tree is named “Ordered Chaos”, and revolves around “Anarchy”, which gives decreased accuracy with increased gun damage.
It’s pretty cool of Gearbox to release this character a whole week early, so points to them for being good guys. I got a good chuckle out of the final skill in the Little Big Trouble tree. It’s description is “Robots are like vampires: they sparkle when hit with incendiary rounds.” If you per-ordered the game the class is free. If not, you can purchase the class for $9.99 or 800 Microsoft points. Here is a video to preview what she will sound like and what her personality is like that was released on October 5th.

Ah, the Day-One-DLC Class finally arrives! Another reason for me to stay away from picking this game up until the GOTY edition comes along.
The character has 2 skins and 3 heads less than any other character, I’m guessing because one head is lost to B1 save bonus and one head is lost to special edition, not sure which other head is missing. I just hope this doesn’t count as one of the 4 DLCs that are meant to come out by july 2013, otherwise this is a really crappy DLC.
It isn’t part of the Season Pass DLC stuff, it’s only for people that pre-ordered the game. The 4 Season Pass DLC’s are promised to be much larger and more expansive with story line stuff.
Cool of them to release it early, but ten bucks is a bit steep for just another character. I got it free, but it’s still a bit too pricey. Five dollars would have been acceptable. But they charge ten bucks for their big expansions, it’s just odd that they’d price a playable character at the same rate.
Still gonna wait for a 75% off sale of the 4-pack of the GOTY Edition. Worked for the first, only payed $22.50.
Oh, cool. Time to check bitgamer.
legitimately a class i don’t want to play, far to dependent on passive attributes and a robot
from a mix/max standpoint i am legitimately disappointed, nowhere near as efficient at any role compared to the others
