Valve Unboxes A Fully-Functional Portal Turret

It’s Friday, and news is a bit on the slow side, so have a video of some Valve employees checking out the fully-functional Portal turret sent to them by the folks at WETA Workshop, the company that does props for the Lord of the Rings movies, among many others.

This fully articulated model moves, talks, tracks movement, and even pretends to shoot you. But does it freak out if you knock it over? Who would want to risk damaging it to find out?

Fortunately, not even WETA could figure out how to fit all those bullets into turret form factor, which is the only thing that stopped them from building it as a fully-functional adorable weapons platform.

  6. Well, a post like this is fine every now and then if you absolutely don’t have anything else to post, just don’t overdo it.
