Team Fortress 2 Goes Co-Op

Team Fortress 2 is getting quite the sizeable update August 15th. Mann vs. Machine is set to pit up to six players against hordes of deadly robotic doppelgangers. MvM is a new wave based mode, complete with ability and weapon upgrades in between onslaughts, as well as varying types of special robots ready to really mess up carefully laid plans, from over sized walking bombs, to monstrous behemoth versions of the Soldier, Heavy and Scout. It’s seems to be something a la Killing Floor in terms of gameplay, and that’s awesome.

So far, Valve has announced quite a few enemy types and a map, but anything resembling new weapons or abilities have not yet been revealed. For now, head on over to the Mann vs. Machine page for more information on the heaps of new robot minions ready to be blown to bits. Or check out the comics and form your own insane theories on what will be announced.

Overall, this feels like a nice change of pace for players who enjoy a more team-based game and will provide a surprisingly great deal of content for the free to play shooter. There are still a few more days until the update is released, and according to the website, more information to be doled out, so keep a lookout until then.
