LucasArts Hiring for Mystery FPS Game

LucasArts quietly posted a couple new job openings the other day with the aim of filling out a team to work on what is described as “an unannounced first-person shooter”. Available positions include Senior AI Engineer, Senior Animator, Senior Core Engineer, and Gameplay Engineer. The descriptions of these positions suggest that this will be a game made in Unreal Engine 3 and could see a release on both current and future generation systems as well as the PC.

Star Wars games have had their ups and downs over the years, but the franchise’s track record is notably more solid when it comes to FPS games in particular, producing many memorable series such as Jedi Knight, Battlefront and Republic Commando. It’s been quite awhile since we’ve had a new entry in any of these properties. Could this mystery game be a sequel to one of those, or perhaps something new? Place your bets!

Oh boy, I guess it’s time to get our hopes built up all over again for Battlefront 3 then cry into buckets of Ben and Jerry’s when it’s something we didn’t want.

Oh god maybe it is Outlaws II, or Outlaws HD, or Lost Tales Of Outlaws, or Outlaws: Forgotten stories. Anyway it would be great if they did any of that. Outlaws is my favourite fps of all time.
