- A really nice fake for the PS4 specifications just surfaced. Signs that it’s a fake? 20GB of RAM and continued use of the Cell Processor.
- Atlus decide to extend the lifespan of Demons Souls servers indefinitely, which makes them very cool. Maybe Konami can do the same thing for Metal Gear Online?
- You can now purchase Indie Game: The Movie on Steam. I believe that Gabe is taking steps to expand his empire even further.
- Sony patents a way to put commercials into games, in a move that seeks to remove any support that I have for the company.
- Phil Fish is disappointed by Fez’s sales. It makes you wonder if he has a bit of Notch envy, with Minecraft surpassing Black Ops in amount of players.
- 379 people who developed Kingdoms of Amalur are now without a job. Rhode Island’s government is somehow involved as well.
- Some Bioware employees got laid off too. They were a part of the team that worked on SW:TOR. As the upper management of the company has drastically changed from 10 years ago, they’re probably happy to be gone.
- LucasArts is announcing a new game soon. With speculation over the developer Spark Unlimited, it could be Battlefront 3. But it is probably The Force Unleashed 3.
- Motorola is kicking Microsoft’s ass in the courts, but the Xbox 360 won’t be banned in the U.S.
- A bit of insight into Capcom’s development strategy on AAA games. In short, there is a lot of money involved, and a lot of outsourcing.
- Zynga’s dominance in casual games is rapidly falling off, and this news comes with a well-timed Reddit AMA about Zynga.
- Remember when Cloud gaming wasn’t even supposed to work? Although it inherently has problems , it’s getting a lot better.
- Diablo 3 became the biggest launch in PC gaming history, with over 6 million copies sold. Great job on everyone buying the game, now everyone at Activision-Blizzard will get a nice bonus.

Is Fez even worth trying? Critics have been raving about it, /v/ hates the living daylights off of it, and my friends told me it was meh.
Fez is a passing craze that will be forgotten by the end of the year if you ask me. It’s whole 2D/3D mechanic isn’t all that original (there are multiple flash games out there that do the same thing, and better). The metagame secret hunting seems to be the big draw at this point. I’d pick it up if it came to Steam, and was on sale. That’s about it.
Also Phil Fish = kind of an asshole.
Gee, thanks Atlus. Now my article is useless.
Many indie devs are kind of assholes
While that is true there are very many cool indie devs, and he really takes asshole to an annoying level for indie devs, asking people to buy his game and telling them to suck his dick at the same time.
I probably would have gotten the game when it eventually (hopefully I guess) comes to PC just to play through it real quick to say I did (cause it’s an indie game and I usually enjoy doing so), but he’s such an asshole that I felt the need to pick it apart and quickly realized how big of a steaming pile it is.
Indie devs I like are ones that aren’t making pretentious art games, but are trying to push gaming forward. The guys behind Hawken and Lugaru: Overgrowth are great examples. Also remember that Roller Coaster Tycoon, Doom, Morrowind, Half Life and Civilization were all made by independent companies.
The link about the Star Wars game states it is a new franchise, so it can’t be TFU3 or BF3.
